Teaching

I strive to teach in a way that enables students, irrespective of their backgrounds, and to feel the joy that comes with asking questions about ourselves and the world, about things we often take for granted--even when we fall short of satisfying answers.

Beyond my own university teaching, I have sought to increase access to philosophy. Since 2018, I have also been engaged in prison education. In addition to teaching two courses at D.C. Jail, I have volunteered as a substitute instructor and teaching assistant there, as well as through Columbia University’s Rethink program, where philosophy conversations are brought to Rikers Island prison.
